Miracle Skin Perfector Roll - On BB Cream by Garnier // Review & Comparison

Today I bring you a different kind of review. This one is a comparison between two same products, the old versus the new version of the Miracle Skin Perfector Roll - On BB Cream by Garnier (yes, that's quite a long name!)

It has been one of my go to products for some years now and the original one, the one on the right side, lasted so so long that I'm even ashamed to admit for how many years (there was no way to finish it! I promise) it has been on my makeup stash.

So when I finally decided to upgrade it to the new version and toss the old one, I was quite disappointed to find that the new one was quite different. Specially I was surprised by the color change since I'm really pale and the new version is darker than its predecessor.

So after seeing some differences more I thought that this review might be helpful to those of you who might still be using the old version and want to grab the new one.

Color: As pictured, on the right side you can see version 2.0, darker and with a pinker hue. On the left, version 1.0, lighter and more on the yellow side.

Roll-On: The new roll on is smaller, I suppose this is to make it more precise but the older version had enough precision. Also I have seen that this new roll-on makes the product to come out even when the cap is closed so everytime I open it there's product everywhere.

Consistency: Not much difference in this section but I would say that the newer version is more liquid while the older one was a bit thicker.

Durability: The new one doesn't last on me more than two to three hours... I don't know why but the original one lasted waaaay more on my skin. This is the biggest no-no for me of this upgraded product.

Definitely I preferred the old version better so now I am looking for a new go-to concealer that doesn't involve the use of brushes. Any suggestions? Which one do you use?

Studio Fix Foundation by M·A·C // Full Review

The last time I visited a M·A·C counter, I received a small sample of their Studio Fix Foundation that I was willing to try. They gave me the shade NC20 which was an almost perfect match.

It's a liquid foundation but with some consistency so it's easy to apply with a brush like the Stippling brush from Real Techniques. It has a medium to almost full coverage, if you build up the product you will cover practically any pimple or dark circles you have. Still if you want to fully cover any imperfection you may need an extra touch of concealer. 

It has a matte finish that looks beautiful on pictures but if you have some dry patches it may enhace them. If you have normal to combination skin it will look great on you. It doesn't look cakey if you apply thin layers and after some hours it sill looks great with no shine or oxidization around.

Its costs 30,50 € which is an ok price for this foundation. Not extremely expensive yet not too cheap which is the cost I expect from M·A·C  products. I did like it, but I had the feeling that it was a bit drying for my skin and enhaced some skin imperfection. I'll try another foundations from M·A·C before I pick one to see if there are any other formulas that adapt best to my skin.

- Easy to apply, you don't need too much product to cover your entire face.

- Its lasts for more than 8 hours without moving.

- Photographs beautifully.

- A bit drying.

New In! Brow Satin by Maybelline - Review // Reseña

Recently Maybelline released a new brow product, the Brow Satin. Is a double ended plastic pencil which has 2 products in 1, a liner and an eyeshadow. The wax liner is very skinny, perfect to fill in gaps and define the shape of your brows a little more. The shadow comes out of an sponge, it gives a soft and natural look to the brow and also sets the pencil. 

It comes in four different colors: dark blonde, medium brown, dark brown and mahogany red. I picked up dark brown and it matches my hair perfectly. The formula is water resistant from what I've tried, I wouldn't say that is waterproof but I can assure you that your brows won't melt under the rain!

It's really easy to use, if you turn it, the pencil comes out and you can easily draw small hairs. The sponge fills itself with more eyeshadow everytime you push it in. I have some doubts with this auto-filling design, I'm not sure how long it will last before it dries out. I'll have to figure it out with time...

It's not super pigmented (as you can see on the pictures) but I think it gives a really natural look to the brows, so if you're looking for a product that helps you to define them without going overboard, this one is for you. If you like really strong and defined brows you should check any other option, like the Dipbrow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills (you can read my review of it here). I also think that is a nice product to take it with you on the bag or to travel without needing much more products, just a gel to fix the brows.

It costs around 8 € which I think is a fair price for the product. I just hope that the eyeshadow would last and it wouldn't get dry too soon. Have you tried this product? Do you fill your brows daily? Kisses!

Jumbo Eye Pencil by NYX // Review & Swatches // Iced Mocha, Lime, Yogurt, Cottage Cheese & Dark Brown

Recently I bought 5 new color of the Jumbo Eye Pencils by NYX. I already owned the color Milk (a matte white that I used as an eyeshadow base) that I really like, so when I found out that there was a 50% off on the brand I grabbed this five colors to create some looks. 

But as good as is sounds, I was quite disappointed with some of the shades I bought, as you will see in the next pictures. The colors are all beautiful but some of the shades doesn't last too much on the eye, even with eyeshadow base! I'm going to talk about each shade separately so you can see which didn't work out as expected.

From left to right: Lime, Iced Mocha, Dark Brown, Yogurt & Cottage Cheese.

1. Cottage Cheese (608) - A pearl white, perfect to add a touch of light on the inner corner of the eyes or smudge it under the browbone. I got no problems with this one since I haven't used it on the lid, just to highlight,

2. Yogurt (611) - An iridescent soft pink. As Cottage Cheese, I think this is a beautiful shade to add a touch of light on the inner corner for smokey eyes. I've used it for my Monte Carlo red lips look (here). I didn't have any problems with this shade but again I haven't used it on the lid as the others.

3. Dark Brown (602) - This is were the problems begin! This is a matte dark chocolate brown shade. It looks wonderful when you just applied it but in less than two hours it already creased on me (and I don't have oily lids, I promise!). I gave this shade a second chance and used it with Nars' eyeshadow base and I got almost the same results, a bit less of creasing, but still a lot. Second problem, in less than six hours it was almost completely gone... and in eight it had disappeared. So I wouldn't recommend you to get this shade.

4. Lime (613) - The most problematic shade of the bunch! I was so disappointed with this one! It's a beautiful golden green that looks really beautiful when you apply it but in less than an hour it already creased and in six hours it was totally gone. Too bad because it was my favorite color of the five.


5. Iced Mocha (617) - This wasn't as bad as Dark Brown or Lime but still creased a bit and disappeared after eight hours of wear. This is a soft golden brown with a lot of shine.


SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEM: If you already bought them as me and you don't know what to use them for or how to stop them from disappearing of your lid, these are my recommendations:

1. Always use an eyeshadow base, Nars or Essence (low cost) have both great eyeshadows base. They help a bit with the creasing problem.

2. Use them over another crem eyeshadow that works for you. I personally use the Tattoo eyeshadows from Maybelline.

3. Apply powder eyeshadows over them to fix them and enhance their colors.

4. Use them only as highlighters in the inner corners or under the browbones, or to add some depth to your eye look on the outer corners. I would recommend to soften the edges with a brush. I don't know why but it kind of work out for me and made them stay longer.


I was so disappointed with these shades... After having used the Milk shade for many many looks I was really hoping to love these ones as well but as you can see my haul turned out completely wrong. The good thing is that I only spent half the money they usually cost. Mayeb these work for other people but definitely these are not for me.

Dior Star Teint Studio Foundation - Review // Reseña

I got a sample of Dior Star Teint Studio foundation in a magazine some months ago and finally I tried it last Saturday. And now here it goes my review, with my opinion, pros and cons!

 

Opinion: I got the color 030 Medium Beige which was a bit darker for my skin but I applied it on the neck to avoid a "mask" effect. It's a fluid foundation so I used a brush to spread it all over my face, exactly the Oval 6 by M·A·C. You don't need that much product to cover your face, it has medium coverage so I have to reapply a bit more around my nose where I have some redness. It's very light so I don't feel like I'm wearing too much product over my face.

 

It has a natural finish, not too dewy but not completely matte. It lasted 8 hours on me but I think it's able to last even longer (I had to go to sleep so I had to take it off!). It doesn't oxidize or look cakey even if you apply more than one layer. The only thing I didn't liked that much is that it emphasized a bit the texture of my skin (right now I'm having some problems and I have a bumpy texture on my nose area).

 

I really liked it but still I don't know if I would pay 50$ for a full size bottle. I think I still prefer other ones that I still have open but probably I will check it out again in the future if I'm in need of a new foundation and when my skin is back on track again.

 

Pros:

 

- It's lightweight and doesn't cake.

 

- Lasts for more than 8 hours.

 

- Natural finish, not shiny or matte.

 

- Beautiful packaging.

 

Cons:

 

- It's an expensive foundation.

 

- Emphasizes my skin texture.

 

- Not a big range of colors.

 

- If you are looking for a full coverage this one is not for you.

My skin before and after using Dior Star Teint Studio

My Red Lipsticks Collection // Mi Colección de Labiales Rojos

These are all the red lipsticks I own. As you can see the range goes from a bright orange-y red to a deep oxblood. I'm starting a new series where I will make a different look wearing each of these lipsticks so you can see different types of makeups with red lips. But first let's talk about the shades!

1. Rouge Dior in Rouge Flamboyant (638) by Dior: This is the brightest one and has an orange undertone. It's a bit sheer so you have to apply two to three layers of it to be completely opaque on the lips. Is really hydrating and feels really smooth on the lips. It lasts around 6 to 7 hours on the lips without moving, even after drinking or eating.

2. Rouge Coco in Cambon (31) by Chanel: This was the first red lipstick I ever bought and I still love it. It gravitates towards the pink hues, like a cherry red. As the Rouge Dior, it has a moisturizing formula and you nedd two to three layer to cover completely the lips. It lasts 6 to 7 hours but I recommend using it with a lipliner otherwise it tends to feather a bit.

3. Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo by NYX: The latest one to enter into my stash. After trying other soft matte lip creams I fell in love with the formula and applicator and I couldn't resist to grab two more colors. This was one of them, a deep crimson red that has a velvet finish. It covers the lip with just one swipe and lasts around 4 hours, but is so easy to reapply that I don't mind doing it.

4. Retro Matte Lipstick in RiRi Woo by M·A·C: A limited edition lisptick from the first Rihanna's collaboration with M·A·C. I was so lucky to get it, it was sold out everywhere! Its a completely matte lipstick, in a deep red color with cool undertones. It's similar to Ruby Woo but I prefer the cool undertones of this one better. It's a bit drying so you have to use balm underneath to keep your lips perfect through the day. It lasts around six to eight hours so it's the perfect red to go out. I always get asked about it when I wear it and probably this is my favorite of the bunch with Chanel's Cambon.

5. Color Sensational in Lady Red (527) by Maybelline: I was living abroad and I didn't have any red lipsticks with me but I didn't want to spend a fortune so I went to the Maybelline stand and I checked out the reds. I love their neon colors so I thought that the quality of their red lipstick was going to be as good and I was completely right. They're super pigmented and soft. They have an hydrating formula and a beautiful sheen finish. The first one I got was Lady Red, a medium deep red with cool undertones, what I would call a classic red.

6. Color Sensational in Pleasure Me Red (547) by Maybelline: Days after trying Lady Red, I went back to the counter and got a second lipstick, Pleasure Me Red. This one is darker and deeper, I would decribe it as a blood red. With both of them I get around 6 hours of wear.

7. Matte Lipstick in Russian Red by M·A·C: One of the most famous reds by M·A·C with the Ruby Woo. It's an intense lipstick with a rich deep color with blue undertones. With one swipe it completely covers your lips. It has a matte finish but is not as drying as RiRi Woo. Even though I love the color, the problem with this texture is that you need a perfect skin on your lips because otherwise it emphasizes any crack or flake you might have. It lasts 6 to 8 hours without fading.

Conditioner for Colored Hair by Belle (only available in Spain): My mom bought this conditioner for her hair and I also used it and none of us have felt any kind of improvement in our hair. It was like applying nothing so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a conditioner that protects your color or makes your hair softer. The good thing is that it's a cheap brand so I didn't loose that much money. I won't buy it again.

Daily Microfoliant by Dermalogica (54$): This is an amazing skin product if you're having some problems with zits, bumps, acne or dullness. It' a gentle face exfoliant with a rice-based powder formula that activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes. Basically you apply it doing circular motions on the face mixing it with some water, like if it was a face mask. If you have time you can let it dry so it's even more effective. After that you wash it off using water again and you'll feel your skin cleaner, softer and brighter. It has improved my skin a lot and I have been able to apply it daily since it's appropriate for sensitive skins also. I know it's expensive but it has lasted me for more than a year.

Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam by The Face Shop: This was the first corean skin product I've ever used and it messed up my skin so badly! I was hoping to love this product since everyone is talking so good about corean skincare products... I tried a small sample before buying the full size product and it had worked totally fine but when I started using this cleansing foam for three to four days my skin became itchy and irritated, even with bumply texture in some parts. I thought that maybe it was because it was a bit too strong so I started using it only once a week and still my skin reacted really bad to it.

Clearly I stopped using it because my skin was all wrong, with breakouts and red patches. I don't know what ingredient could have made such a bad reaction... I've read it's a brightening product so maybe is not good for my sensitive skin. I was advised by the shop ownder which is specialized in corean cosmetics so I trusted her. Anyway, I had to throw this away and start from zero with my skin again to get it back in shape so I won't be buying this product never again.

Hand Cream by Druni (only available in Spain): This was an ok hydrating cream. It's a nice product if you don't have super dry skin since it absorbs really quickly and smells good (like a classic hand cream, nothing special). But if you need an extra moisturizing product this one is not for you since you might need something more potent. It was a gift from the shop so I'm not sure how much it costs but it probably is not expensive at all. I wouldn't buy this again since I've used hand creams that I've liked more.

Fix+ by M·A·C (22$): This has been a must for me for some years now. Probably is my 3rd or 4th bottle and I've already bought another one. As the brand describes it, is an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber. You can use it before or after applying your makeup. If you use it before, it moisturizes a bit your skin and creates a fresh canvas for the foundation. If you use it after (which is what I usually do), it helps to fix the finished makeup and gives a more natural look, not powdery. It's not like you can't live without it but it's a nice feeling to use it to finish off your makeup, specially during summer. There's also available a travel size which is great to try it before buying the full size.

Nail Lacquer in Honey by Dolce & Gabbana - Review // Reseña

I got this nail polish as a gift this last Christmas and I haven't done a review yet! I had been looking for a nude nail lacquer for a long time and I hadn't found one I truly loved till I came across this beautiful shade from D&G. I have liked previous colors but Honey stole my heart . It has the right amount of pink, is super creamy and covers the nails with just two coats. With other shades I had to apply three or four coats to get an even color on the nail and seriously I hate to wait such a loooong time for them to dry.

It lasted on my nails 5 days, no chipping and minor tip wear which is really good since I'm all day working on my computer and tipping on my keyboard. I added a top coat (Good to go! by Essie) which is the one that I always use and helps me to keep my nail polishes intact for a few more days.

The only problem with this nail polish is its cost... 23€ is quite a high price for a nail polish. Still is a high end brand with an extra beautiful packaging and the formula is outstanding so if you splurge on it at least you're getting a good product (something that not always happens).

Step 1 Skin Equalizer: Smoothing Primer nº2 by Make Up Forever - Review // Reseña

I love when I got a mail from Sephora and I find inside a small sample! If I'm having a bad day it changes it a bit! I know, I know, It's really easy to make me happy :)

 

Today arrived to my email the new base by Make Up Forever. They have released eight different (at least in Spain), which I'll talk about later. But first I will talk about the one I got that's called Smoothing Primer nº2. It's supposed to minimize the look of pores, wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps to keep the makeup flawless all day long. The full size costs around 36$ so before buying the it, is great to be able to try them on, since there are so many different formulations.

 

Does it work? As you can see on the pictures it diminishes a bit the aspect of the pores. I've added a point of reference so it helps you to spot the difference. It makes easier to apply the makeup and it made it last all night long. Still I'm not sure if I would pay the 36$ since I didn't quite feel a lot of improvement on my skin. Even it has some color it goes completely invisible on the skin and leaves it with a silicone feeling. I don't have really big pores so maybe that's why I don't see a big difference. Maybe on other skins it works better but right now I don't think I'll buy the full size product, first I want to try other bases and compare them.

Mythic Oil Shampoo by L'Oréal - Review // Reseña - Champú

About two months ago I finished this sample from the Mythic Oil Shampoo by L'Oréal. It's quite big so I could try it well before having an opinion about it. Even though I like its smell and texture when I was washing my hair, I've felt that my hair didn't last clean for more than one day.

It does leave your hair soft and shiny but maybe because of its oils, my roots became greasy sooner than with other shampoos I've tried. So I think is a nice option if you have dry hair, because it left my dry roots soft and less frizzy but if you are more on the oily side I would advise you to look for another shampoo. At least from my experience.

It costs around 19€ for 250 ml and has argan oil and cotton seed oil which are supposed to balance your hair's natural oil, but all the products I've tried with argan oil in them didn't work out for me so I wouldn't buy the full size of this shampoo. Maybe the conditioner would be a better option for my hair type. Have you tried this shampoo or any products from this range? Kisses!

New! Crystal Eyeliner by KIKO - Review + 204 Eyes Brush // Reseña

 

So the other day I went pass KIKO and I went in to see the new collections. I haven't been there for a long time and I was surprised by the new eyeliners from the collection "Generation Next" called Crystal Eyeliners and their great quality. So I ended up picking number 03 Reflect Burgundy (click on the name to get it!) To me it looks like a deep chocolate brown with a soft metallic finish. It's super pigmented and lasts for more than eight hours on my upper lash line, no retouches needed! To me that was impressive, once you put it, there's no way to take it off unless you use a makeup remover. It glides on perfectly and it comes with a small sharpener on the backside so you can sharpen the point easily without needing an extra sharpener for it.

 

 

There are six colors available, the other ones were brighter and shinier and I was looking something for an everyday look and this color was the perfect choice but I recommend you to check out the others. I wish they had it in black because I would buy it right now! It only costs 6,90 € which seems really affordable to me since the ones I usually use from Chanel are 25 €, so in comparison you're getting the same product at a really lower price.

Apart from the eyeliner, I picked up the 204 Eyes Brush since I lost mi eyeliner brush from M·A·C. I can't find it anywhere and I didn't want to spend all that money again on the same brush. It had a 30% off so I ended up paying another 6,90 € for it which is a reasonable price. It has synthethic bristles whcih are soft but also stiff which makes this brush perfect to smudge the eyeliner and also draw eyebrows. It has no shedding and comes with a protective cap. Overall I'm pretty happy with it!

 

 

I also bought two pairs of falsies from Eylure in another shop but I will talk about them in other post soon. I have to try them on and see how they fit and all that to make a good review :) I hope you liked my new purchases! Have you tried any of them? Kisses!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan & Antwerp - Review // Reseña

 

Yay, weekend is almost here! Today I bring you a review of two lip products by NYX, the Soft matte lip cream in Milan & Antwerp. This week I read in Daphne's Cupcakes Instagram that NYX will no longer sell its products in Spain so I went to the drugstore to see which products were still available and pick these. I had seen lovely swatches online of these lip creams for some time and I was really curious about this formula and I must say that I really liked it.

 

I think it's super easy to apply, I didn't expected this at all with the doe foot applicator but seriously it glides over the skin smoothly. As you can see on the pictures I was able to draw my  lips without using a lipliner. Its a liquid lipstick that dries completely matte, so if you have skin flakes on your skin this makes them really visible. So I recommend before using it to apply a lip exfoliant to get an even base. These were the two colors I got:

 

Antwerp: On my hand it looked like a muted coral/ peach but when I applied it on my lips was more like a soft orange. Even though I liked the color the problem was that it dried a bit unevenly and it left some marks over my lips (as you can see in the picture). It wasn't as thick as Milan and that's why I think the application wasn't even. Still if you have patience you can retouch it and the finish will be smooth and nice.

 

Milan: My favorite of the two. A cold pink that I though it was going to be more neon but it ends up being more discreet and I love it. I find it quite special for being a pink color and I've been wearing it everyday since I bought it.

 

I've seen different cost for these lipsticks depending on the shop where you buy it, in Druni (where I got mine) they were 5,75€/each, to me they seem really affordable. They last on me around 4 hours and then they fade slowly so you won't have any patches on your lips (sometimes a problem with matte lip products). I know that there are lip products that last longer but I don't mind to reapply these ones since I love the applicator and how smooth they feel.

Inneov Densilogy Review - Hair Loss Solutions // Reseña - Soluciones para la Caída del Pelo

Hello Beauties! Sorry for the lack of activity the last days but I haven't been feeling that good and yesterday when I finished taking the pictures for the Emma Stone tutorial I don't know what I did with my camera and I deleted all of them! And I was like nooooo... and there was no way to recover them, nothing, nope, nada.... And there I was with a full face of makeup at 2 a.m. in the morning with no pictures and super angry with the world, so I decided to wipe it all off go to sleep and I'll re-do it all over again today. I am so sorry for the delay!

This post was supposed to be for tomorrow but since I don't have the tutorial, I've just changed them. I hope you like it and find it useful (there's some personal stuff in it but I think that anyone who has suffer some hair loss or hair problem may feel related to it). 

Hair loss is a problem that you may never think of until you suffer it (and this is where the personal part starts). During all my life I had a lot of hair, like a lot of it, I would even go to the hairdresser to get some volume off. I had a long mane and even though I colored it and wear it as a blonde I've never had any problems with it, it was strong and smooth. That was until I was 21, in 2010 I went to live and study in Sweden for a year as an Erasmus exchange student. Before leaving there I turned my hair back to its original brunette color so I wouldn't have to go to the hairdresser in my new adoption country (which is kind of expensive). So everything was totally fine, my hair was at its best and there were no problems in sight until the second month after my arrival started . I started to see that I had a lot of hair loss, it clogged the shower drainpipe, I would find hair everywhere from my pillow to my clothes, when I brushed my hair a lot of it fell (like small hair locks). I didn't care that much at first, until I went back to my hometown and visited my hairdresser during the holidays. The moment I seated on her chair, she literally freaked out... I had lost 50% of my hair in just 4 months! And that's the moment I got really scared and became aware that I was suffering a major hair loss problem. My hairdresser checked out my scalp to see if there was some kind of problem there and it was a bit itchy and irritated. The main problem wasn't there but we couldn't figure out what was happening. She gave me specific hair pills that I had to take for three months and one week later more or less I went back to Sweden because I have to keep on studying there. 

I took the pills for three months and I started to see a  recovery in my hair, I had tiny baby hairs coming out again and the hair loss decreased (it didn't disappear completely, but I could feel it was smaller than before). Anyway I was still scared and everyday I was checking out the baby hairs and the brushes to see day after day if my hair was growing back. I didn't came back to my hometown until June and as soon as I went back home I went to the hairdresser. She checked my hair again and told me the good news, I had recovered 25% of my hair so I was at 75% which was great for me after all the hair loss.

After that I kept on taking those pills twice a year to prevent seasonal hair loss and even though I kept the 75% of my hair, I've never went back to before I went to Sweden. In the end it was stress what caused my hair to fall. But after all the problems I am pretty happy with it and that I was able to stop it before it was too late. I don't want to sound like I don't have hair or anything, I still have a lot of hair, long and healthy that I'm happy with.

After all this story, let's  go to the products I used and still use that I recommend to any of you who may have some hair problems, not only hair loss but also sensitive scalp or brittle hair.

 

Densilogy by Innéov: These are the pills that I take twice a year for three months (six in total). Each box for three months costs around 50E so it's not expensive for how good it works. Not only it makes the hair stronger and stops the hair loss, also it makes hair and nails grow super fast. Just one minor con, it makes ALL hair grow up really quickly so you will have to shave more often than usual.

Cellular Renewal and Regeneration Cream by Skynderm: This cell regenerative cream does wonders for damaged, irritated scalp and to fix the redness of it. You have to apply it directly on your scalp, make a soft massage and leave it there for half an hour. Then you wash your hair as usual. It really helps to reduce the irritation on the scalp and you can use it even if you have a sensitive scalp. I can't remember how much it costs (I know it was expensive) and I bought it to my hairdresser directly.

Deep Micro Exfoliant Scalp Treatment by Kiehl's: One of the causes of thinner hair and/or hair loss is clogged scalp pores. This products help you to exfoliate the scalp softly, remove dead cells and make a deeper cleanse. It's also good to control dandruff. I use this from time to time to make sure that my scalp is fresh and healthy.

System 1 by Nioxin: It's composed by three different products that help to add more volume and thickness to you hair. There are different systems depending on your needs but this one was the one that worked for me during that time. Just ask your hairdresser to see wich one is good for your hair.

I used this system on my hair while I was taking the pills and using the cream by Skynderm. I know that's a lot of products but as I said my hair needed a shock therapy to get back on track. I spent a lot of money on it but I was really happy with the results so in the end it was all worth it. I want to insist that this was my personal experience and this were the products that worked (and still work) on me, but I'm not saying these are miraculous products and maybe they don't work the same on everyone. If you decide to use them I'll advise you to talk to your hairdresser or doctor and see what they recommend you.

Microshadow in Desert // Make Up Store // Review + Swatches

Hello Ladies! This is a super short review of another thing I got during the Black Friday. Is an eyeshadow from the brand Make Up Store that was founded in Sweden and that I knew about when I studied there. In Spain there's only one shop and it's super far from where I live so I bought this one through Beauty Bay.

 

I chose the Microshadow in Desert because one of my favorite make up artists, Linda Hallberg, uses this one a lot on her looks as a blending shade so I decided to try it out myself. It has a beige/sand tone that matches almost completely my skin (as you can see on the pictures). The texture is silky smooth and has a matte finish.

 

If you are looking for a superbold and dramatic shadow this might not be for you, but I think is great as a transition or blending shade for creating soft smokey eyes. It costs 16,30 € (I think I got a 30% off, cant remember now). I love the products I've tried of this brand so if you already have something similar to this eyeshadow I encourage you to chek out the other colors. They're lovely!

Contour Kit // Anastasia Beverly Hills // Product Review

Hello lovelies! I continue the reviews form the Black Friday shopping. Now is the turn of the second product you were more curious about, the Contour Kit by Anastasia Beverly Hills. This will be a long review! I knew about this product because I love Kylie Jenner's makeup (specially her brows and contouring) lately and I looked for the products she usually applies. This was her favourite product for contouring and after thinking about getting it or not I finally went for it because during Black Friday the brand had 25% off in their website.

The kit is really big and you get a lot of product, exactly six different powder shades (3 g/ 0.11 oz each). The price is high, 40$ but if you divide it is around 6,6$ for each shade. The great thing about it is that you can refill the shadows without having to buy the whole palette again. If you buy them separate they cost 14$ each so the palette has a great value if you think about it (it would be 84$!)

Now let's focus on the product itself! It contains the next six shadows (three for highlighting and three for shading) and comes in a sleek black container made of cardboard, which makes it a not too resistant to wear. But it looks pretty and if you take care of it there won't be any further problems:

- Sand: this highlighter is the only shade that has a satin/shimmer finish so I prefer to reserve this for special ocassions. On my skin is almost transparent and juts gives shine to it.

- Vainilla: is the palest highlighting shade. It has a matte finish and is my favorite from the top row.

- Banana: this highlighter is yellower than the other two. This is good for correcting redness.

- Java: to me this is the most common shade because it looks really similar to a bronzer but is completely matte so is really nice for shading.

- Fawn: is the most special shade for me, is a soft brown with a bit of grey undertone which is the perfect shading color for fair skins like mine!

- Havana: this is the darkest one and has red undertones so for my fair skin is a bit too much but probably for summer I'll use it more.
 

On the web you can find 27 different refills so if you think that this palette won't fit your skintone you can customize your own (and get the same prize as the original palette) or just buy the 2 or 3 that will work the best for you.

The shadows are all smooth and pigmented. I haven't found any of them chalky or harder to use. I wore them today for 8 hours and they lasted completely fine with minor fading (mainly because I touch my face many times during the day). I've put them over foundation and then applied the fix+ spray from M·A·C to set the makeup. So just to finish I have to say that I'm super happy with the kit and I can understand its popularity (it has been sold out many many times). I didn't have any specific shadows for contouring and this kit has everything I need for it. Another major plus: it's completely cruelty free! If you're interested,you can buy this kit online here.

Body Wash and Body Lotion "Sugar Crush" by & Other Stories

For all of you who might haven't heard about it, & Other Stories is a clothes, accesories and beauty shop for women. It is owned by the H&M group and landed in Spain during the Spring in 2013. When I entered their shop in Barcelona, I couldn't imagine the amount of beauty products I was going to find. Soaps, creams, eyeshadows, nail lacquers, brushes... The wide range available pleasently surprised me, as well as the variety of colors and smells.

Furthermore, as its " big sister", cosmetics have a very affordable price. What makes it almost impossible not to be tempted to buy something . I bought a corrector palette, a brush and a contouring cream, which I will talk about in another post.

When I paid for all of the aboved, the salesgirl introduced in the bag two samples with travel size. A shower gel and body lotion with the name Sugar Crush. I usually keep this products for travelling (as the name suggests), but my curiosity about the brand made me use them as soon as I got home. The smell is like crushed brown sugar but it is accompanied by a citric scent that prevents it from being overly sweet.

 

The scent is intense while you are applying it, but when you come out of the shower it disappears. So, if you like that the scent lasts longer, this is not the right onw for you. If you really want the smell to remain on your skin, use the body lotion. It is very light and absorbs quickly so it is perfect to put on your clothes without having to wait for it to dry. For those of you who may have really dry skin I recommend you to look for another one.
 

Personally, I love the scent of this range and without any doubt I will buy them for future travels because they fit in any pocket of the suitcase. I think they are somehow different, away from conventional smell and their price is a point in their favor.
